Announcements – Friday, November 7 Posted on November 7, 2025 Announcements for Friday, November 7th, 2025 Today is Day 2 A reminder to students that with the month of November comes colder weather and the need to wear a coat when you go outside at lunchtime. Once outside, you will not be allowed to come back in if you didn’t put on a coat. The temperatures are dropping, the wind is chilly, wear a hat, wear gloves, wear a coat! We are following an assembly schedule today. Students will go to period 1 and 2 and then report to Homeroom after the break. Classes will be called down to the gym by grade level. Please remember that the assembly is a very solemn gathering, students should move silently through the halls when coming down to the gym. Please sit quietly in the bleachers as others load and maintain a high level of respect and attention during the ceremony. No applause necessary after students reading/performing. Students and staff will stand AND REMAIN STANDING for O’Canada, the Last Post (bugle), 2 minutes of silence, the Rouse (bugle), and The Act of Remembrance and then you may sit down. When students are dismissed from the gym, please leave as quietly as possible, return to your lockers to gather materials and then proceed to period 3. Wellness: One of the Calm Carrys has not been returned to the Wellness Centre. Please check your lockers and pockets to see if it has been forgotten, if so, please return it to Wellness Centre. No questions asked, we all forget from time to time. Go ENG Girl is designed for girls and non-binary youth in Grades 7–12 and introduces them to the world of engineering through hands-on, engaging activities led by UNB students and professionals. This is a full day event November 15th. Any interested students please see Ms. Young in the Wellness Center. Art: The Art Room will only be open for Grade 8 students who are working on Visual Journal Entries or Clay Projects during 2nd half of lunch today. Music: All band members and singing club members are reminded of your first concert of the year taking place next week on Wednesday evening. Take your instruments home over the 4 day weekend to practice. Sports: All boys who are interested in playing basketball this year are asked to sign up on the sheets outside of the gym. The first tryout for the Varsity Boy’s Basketball Team will be on Wednesday, November 12th 3 – 4:30. This first tryout is for boys in grade 6 and 7 ONLY. On Thursday, Nov. 13th, the tryout will be for grades 7 and 8 ONLY. Times are posted on the sign-up sheets. All girls interested in trying out for the Varsity Girls’ Basketball Team are asked to sign up on the sheets outside the gym as well. The first tryout for Varsity Girls will be Wednesday, 4:30 – 6. Reminder to all soccer players to please return your washed jerseys to Ms. Hannam by the end of the week. And all Badminton players are also reminded to pass in their shirts to Intramurals: Dodgeball team lists and fees are due today! If you forgot your fee, see Mr. Long today. Other: We have a tray of poppies in the office. If any staff or students would like to have one, you may drop a donation into the collection box. We are hoping that everyone is wearing a poppy today for our school Remembrance Day ceremony. Daily Affirmation – I deserve to be loved. PRIDE Passes – A grade 7 student is always respectful, hardworking and kind. A grade 8 student was nominated for being patient, kind and helpful to other students.
