Today is Day 4

Tech: Until the end of Term 1 (the end of the November), the Tech room will only be open for Grade 6 students who have Tech assignments to complete. Closed to grade 7 and 8 and closed to students who just want to hang out.

Wellness: UBU will be open 2nd half of the lunch hour, everyone is welcome.

Today is World Kindness Day, the words of William Aurthur Ward are easy to share: “A Warm Smile is the Universal Language of Kindness”. So, go ahead…smile, share the warmth!

Music: A big congratulations to all members of the Beginner Band, Senior Band and Singing Club. You gave a fantastic first evening performance last night for family and friends! Your hard work was heard! A huge thank you to Mr. Robichaud for all his sound producing leadership! 

Now it is time to move on to holiday music! There is a Beginner Band practice after school until 4:15. 

Art: The Art room is only open at lunch this week for Grade 8 students who are working on clay and portrait projects. Closed to all other students.

Sports:

Varsity Boys’ Basketball tryouts continue today for boys in grade 8 and those grade 7 boys who are on the posted call back list. Tryout is right after school until 4:30.

Varsity Girls’ tryouts, originally scheduled for yesterday, will now begin on Tuesday, Nov. 18th right after school (3 -4:30). A second tryout will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 19th right after school. Please sign up prior to attending the tryouts.

The Dodgeball Tournament starts today at 12:10 and students are invited to watch. The tournament is a fundraiser to buy new PE gear for the school, so if you want to watch it will cost 25cents. Come at lunch today and watch The Academic Assassins take on the Brainy Ballers followed by the Dodgefathers taking on The Misfits. Good luck!

The Badminton Team will have a celebration tomorrow at lunch in the Tech room.

Reminder to all soccer players to please return your washed jerseys to Ms. Hannam ASAP. The following shirts were still not returned:

JV Boys – Dalton, Jacob, Carter, Clark, Carson

JV Girls – Courtney, and maybe Madison #9 vs #8

Varsity Girls – Maggie, Mia

And all Badminton players are also reminded to pass in their shirts to Mr. Long.

PRIDE Passes – A grade 6 student was respectful and a grade 8 student picked up garbage outside without being prompted.

Chris Saunders Elementary is looking for middle school student volunteers to help lead games and activities at their annual CSMES Holiday Yule Event. The event will be on Friday, November 28th from 6-8pm. If you are interested, please email csmesplaygroundcommittee@gmail.com before Nov 21st.
