A few reminders to students: We have received our first snowfall of the year and while it is very tempting to make snowballs and throw snow, the snow needs to stay on the ground! We will keep the field closed today at lunch. Another reminder, squeeze water bottles like the Gatorade style, are for hydration, not for squirting other people. Wonderful Wednesday – On Wednesday morning, the parent group QMS Connections, will be serving hot chocolate as students arrive at school. There will be 2 tables set up, please line up and purchase a nice warm cup of hot chocolate for $1/cup. Limit of 2 cups per person. Tech: Tech room will only be open for Grade 6 students who have Tech assignments to complete. Closed to grade 7 and 8. Music: Music room is closed at lunch today, Mrs. Rattray is not here. Art: Congratulations to the following Grade 7 students who submitted artwork for display at the Saint John Exhibition this year: Ali and Nora in 7 Rourke, Alyssa in 7 Wood, Teresa in 7 Maxwell and Colwyn in 7 Lord. Artworks have been returned to these students, along with a $10 honorarium for exhibiting their creative work. Art & Poster Club meets today after school until 4:00. Time will be available for those wishing to complete submissions for this year’s ‘Seasonal Card Contest’. Please have your way home arranged in advance. And during 2nd half of lunch today, the art room will be open for Grade 8 students working on clay and portrait projects this week. Sports: The Varsity Girls basketball team will begin their tryouts on Tuesday right after school. Please ensure you are signed up prior to attending. The second tryout will be on Wednesday, again, right after school. Practice both days ends at 4:30. The final tryout for the Varsity Boys basketball team will be Tuesday 4:30 – 6. Please check the posted call back list prior to attending. Dodgeball Intramurals, a full schedule is now posted outside the gym and the following teams play today – Dream Team faces the Underdogs and the Ball Blasters take on the Ballistic Bombers. Tomorrow -Ball Avengers vs The Hit Squad and the Dodge Destroyers vs Schoolyard Slayers. 25¢ to watch each day. The following soccer players need to return their soccer jerseys to Ms. Hannam asap: Clark V (JVB), and Carson L (JVB). And all Badminton players are also reminded to pass in their shirts to Mr. Long. Ski / Snowboard Club 2026 – The school has once again secured space in the Poley Mountain School Ski Program for the 2026 season. The season will consist of six sessions (weather depending) starting 9 January and continuing each week on Friday evenings. Information is being sent to parents today and a student information session will be held tomorrow for all interested students. Seats will be allocated on a first come – first served basis on Thursday Nov 20th beginning at 8:10 AM. This activity is limited of 50 participants due to space on the bus. Other: Daily Affirmation – I have the power to make my dreams true. PRIDE Passes – A grade 7 student gave her own paper to the class supply bucket and a grade 6 student was very empathetic towards a student that was having a hard day. Chris Saunders Elementary is looking for middle school student volunteers to help lead games and activities at their annual CSMES Holiday Yule Event.
