Today is Day 3

Tech: Tech room will only be open for Grade 6 students who have Tech assignments to complete.

Music: Thank you to all Singing Club, Beginner Band and Senior Band members for your musicianship and fantastic behaviour at KV High yesterday!  Also a big thank you to our volunteer chaperones!

There is Beginner Band after school today!  We will end at 4:15pm.

In Talent Show news: All of the audition slots scheduled on Monday and Tuesday next week have been filled.  Don’t worry!  An audition sheet for Wednesday has been added!  We know there are so many dancers out there! Please try out!  Take piano lessons?  Have a funny skit with friends? It’s your time to shine! Please sign up outside of the music room.

Wellness: UBU meets today in the Wellness Centre, all are welcome.

Art: The Art room is open for grade 8 students finishing their projects today.

Sports:

Basketball – In basketball action today, the Varsity Boys practice 3 – 4:30 followed by the second JV Boys tryout. JV Boys, please ensure you have checked the call back list prior to attending.

Tomorrow, the Varsity Boys will also practice 3 – 4:30.

A sign-up sheet for the JV Girls basketball team has been posted. The first tryout will be Monday, December 1st 3 – 4:30.

Ski Club – If you have a confirmed seat, please give your signed paperwork to Mr. Nelson ASAP!

Dodgeball Intramurals – At lunch today, team Hit and Misses take on the Ball Blasters and the Dream Team will play the Ballistic Bombers. Tomorrow, Picked Last vs the Dodge Destroyers and the Ball Avengers face the Schoolyard Slayers.

Other:

Tomorrow, to end Term 1 we are having a School Colours Day. Show your QMS spirit and wear school colours to earn team points. The race is tight, there is only a one point lead for first place followed by a 3 way tie for second place and a two way tie for third!

Daily Affirmation – I am open and ready to learn

PRIDE PassesA grade 6 student was empathetic and puts forth a good effort in class. A grade 7 student helped the EA find another student’s supplies.

Mrs. Foley would like to acknowledge the high QUALITY behaviour shown by each student who knows to stop everything they are doing and stand at attentionif they are at their locker or in the hallways for any reason when “O’Canada” begins to play in the morning. A Cougar Pride Shout Out goes to all students who immediately stop what they are doing in order to show respect for our nation.

Holiday Turkey Dinner – The cafeteria staff will once again be preparing a full turkey dinner, including dessert and milk, on December 10th. Tickets are now on sale through the regular cafeteria ordering site for the restaurant style meal served by staff in a candlelit setting. The meal must be pre-ordered online before Tuesday, December 2nd, cost is $8.50. Tickets are limited.
