Today is Day 3

Art: Graphic Design Group – this is a reminder that your permission forms are due today. Please submit them to Mrs. Stoddart today.

Yearbook Helpers– Mrs. Stoddart is looking for a few keen students in Gr. 6 & 7 who could stay after school on Wednesdays until 4:00 to work on labelling yearbook photos.  If this interests you, and you are good at recognizing faces and knowing who students are, please meet with Mrs. Stoddart in the art room during 2nd half of lunch today to get a permission form.

Wellness: UBU will meet in the Wellness Centre today at lunch, all are welcome.

Tech:  The Tech Lab will be closed for the remainder of the week.

Music: This is a reminder of Singing Club today after school.  Have you been considering trying it out?  Well then, today is a great day to come to Singing Club!  It ends at 4:15pm.

All band students are asked to bring their instruments back tomorrow.  There are band preps for each group tomorrow.  Beginner Band has a band prep during period 1 and Senior Band has a band prep in period 2.  As per usual, please ask for permission before attending band prep.

Sports: Congratulations to the Varsity and the JV Boys basketball teams for their victories yesterday. The Varsity Boys defeated RPS and the JV Boys beat MCS. On the girls’ side, the JV Girls lost a close game to RNS, while the Varsity Girls defeated both Princess Elizabeth and Beaconsfield.  

In basketball action today, the JV Girls host HMMS at 4pm. Score keepers are still needed for this game. If you can help out, please see Ms. Hannam. Following the JV Girls game, the Varsity Boys will practice.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, the Varsity Boys host HMS at 4pm and the Varsity Girls continue their play at the Beaconsfield Middle School tournament being played at Simonds High.

Intramurals: The 3 on 3 basketball tournament starts today. All 8 teams playing should bring their lunches to the gym at the beginning of noon hour, 11:50, and stay in the gym for the entire lunchtime.

Other:

Cards and board games club, the group will meet today in Mrs. McGrath’s class at 12:10. Come check it out during the second half of lunch today.

Show the Love for Staff Appreciation – In the next day or so, you will begin to notice that there are paper hearts being posted in the main lobby. Homeroom teachers, there are hearts in your mailboxes waiting to be filled out. The hearts are part of our Staff Appreciation event coming up in February. How do you get a heart to Show the Love to our amazing staff? Families can donate on Cashless Schools and for every $2 that is donated, the student will receive a paper heart on which they can write the name of a staff member who they would like to celebrate. All donations will help QMS Connections spoil our staff members with a delicious meal and other treats and surprises during Staff Appreciation week!
