Announcements – Thursday, January 22nd Posted on January 23, 2026 Announcements for Thursday, January 22nd, 2026 Today is Day 4 – Assembly Schedule Art: The art room will be closed at lunch today. Gr. 8 Graphic Design Group – please meet in the Science Lab at the start of 2nd half of lunch today. This is a change from our scheduled start time because of the Assembly timetable today. Wellness: UBU will gather today in the Wellness Centre, all are welcome. Tech: The Tech Lab, which includes the Lego Wall and hallway, will be closed for the remainder of the week. It remains open for students working on special projects who have already made arrangements with Mr. Donovan. Music: The Music room is closed at lunch today. There is Beginner Band after school today. It ends at 4:30pm. Sports: Congratulations to the Varsity Boys basketball team for their victory over HMS yesterday. Great job team! Congratulations also go out to the Varsity Girls basketball team for their victory over HMMS yesterday. With the win, the girls advance to the final of the Beaconsfield Middle School tournament. The girls play Beaconsfield today in the championship game. Good luck team! In other basketball action today, the Varsity Boys will practice from 3 – 4:30 and the JV Boys will practice 6 – 7:30pm. Tomorrow, the grade 6 boys and girls development team will practice after school. Grade 6 students are encouraged to come out and join the team. Following this practice, the JV Girls will practice 4:30 – 6. Intramurals: The 3 on 3 basketball tournament continues today but due to the assembly schedule, games will start at the second half of lunch! Round 1 – Lakers vs Warriors and Suns vs Kings Round 2 – Clippers vs Nuggets and Jazz vs Kings Referees – Cruz, Bryant and Terry. Score Keepers – Eila, Leah, Stephanie and Olivia. Other: There is a missing shoe, it was hidden in the Music room and has not been found. It is a white and blue Air Force sneaker. If you see it, please return it to the office. Show the Love for Staff Appreciation – Hearts are starting to appear in the lobby! Homeroom teachers, there are hearts in your mailboxes waiting to be filled out. The hearts are part of our Staff Appreciation event in February. How do you get a heart to Show the Love to our amazing staff? Families can donate on Cashless Schools and for every $2 that is donated, the student will receive a paper heart on which they can write the name of a staff member who they would like to celebrate. All donations will help QMS Connections spoil our staff members with a delicious meal and other treats and surprises during Staff Appreciation week!
