Announcements – Friday, March 20th Posted on March 20, 2026 Announcements for Friday, March 20th, 2026 Today is Day 2 Grade 7, the cafeteria has gotten progressively louder and messier each day this week. Please be respectful of the space and clean off the table when you leave. If you spill food or drop wrappers onto the floor, clean it up. There is no need to yell across the table to your friends, if everyone talks in a regular, indoor volume, everyone will be able to hear you just fine without raising your voice. And the weather have gotten nicer, the ice and snow are gone so the cafeteria will now be closed during the second half of lunch each day. Tech: The Tech Lab will be closed at lunch. BIM: BIM room is closed today at lunch. Art: The Art Room will be closed today during lunch. Also from the Art Room, congratulations to members of the Art & Poster Club for submitting posters for the ‘Drug & Alcohol Abuse Awareness’ contest sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Could the following students please meet in the office at 12:10 today to receive your prize money: Yu, Ali, Olivia, Lillian, Nora and Teresa. Sports: Intramural volleyball team lists need to be passed into Mr. Long or Mr. Robichaud by the end of the day. Any students interested in being a referee or a score keeper for intramurals, a sign-up sheet is posted outside the gym. There will be a meeting (training session) at lunch on Monday for all referees. No athletics after school today. Varsity and JV Girls basketball teams that your uniforms are due now. JV players: Eila, and Wren. If you have your uniform today, please bring it to the office as Ms. Hannam is absent. Other: We’re excited to announce that the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to QMS, running from Monday, March 30th to Wednesday, April 1st! There will be hundreds of amazing books for you to explore and choose from. Homeroom teachers will be distributing Book Fair flyers and giving you a sneak peek at some of the great titles that will be available. Students will have the opportunity to visit the Book Fair, purchase books, and enter into draws for a chance to win prizes. The countdown to the Book Fair is on, hope to see you there! Daily Affirmation – I am choosing my direction PRIDE Passes – A grade 8 student helped out a teacher at lunch and a grade 6 student was kind to a friend. We are only a few days away from the launch of QMS Reads! On Tuesday at a special assembly, the author and the titles of the books will be revealed. A few more facts about our featured author: In addition to writing multiple best-selling books, this author has also written over 100 hours of television. At the age of 22, she worked in the food service industry of a popular TV series and tried her hand at writing a script. It was initially rejected but when given another chance, she went on to pen 16 episodes of the long running series, she even got to make a few on-screen guest appearances! This just shows that perseverance and following your dreams pay off!
