Day 3

Provincial Assessments began today with grade 6 classes. A reminder to students who may be upstairs during the morning, please travel quietly in the hallways while classes are writing the assessments. Teachers, ALL 4 laptop carts are to be returned to the library after the assessments. Please be sure they are plugged in. The library is open again at lunch.

Grade 7 in the cafeteria this week. And now that the weather is nicer and more students are going outside, please remember that the basketball court and the gagaball pit are restricted to the same grade level that is in the cafe. The gagaball pit should have a max of 16 students at a time. Once hit with the ball, your game is over and you must exit. Students waiting to play should line up along the outside at each corner, first 2 in each of the 8 lines play the next game. If no one is waiting to play, students can play again.

Art: The Art Room is only open for Gr. 7 students who are working to finish up their projects.

Art & Poster Club meets today after school until 4:00. 

Music:

Sports: On Friday, both the JV Girls and JV Boys lost close games to HMMS. Great effort by both teams. A reminder to both JV teams of your practices today at 5:30, following the V Girls game. Good luck girls!

Tomorrow, JV Girls play at SMS at 4pm. The JV Boys game has been postponed to May 7th.

Girls’ Softball – The second tryout for Girls’ Softball will be today from 3:00-4:00 on the QMS field. Please bring your gear and appropriate clothing.

Today, during period 5, several clubs will be called to the cafeteria for group photos for the yearbook. Games Club, Breakfast Helpers, Recycling Crew, Leadership Team, Yearbook Helpers and Photographers, Breaktime DJS. We will call a few groups at a time. Students, please listen for your group and staff, I apologize in advance for the interruptions!

We are pleased to welcome the honorable Libby O’Hara and Councillor Noah Donovan to QMS this week! They will be speaking to students about democracy, government responsibilities, the importance of making informed votes, and the voting process. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn directly from community experts about these important roles. Schedule: Tuesday, April 28:

PRIDE Passes –  A grade 7 student was kindly encouraging a classmate and another grade 7 student showed a strong, consistent effort during independent studio time in Art class.
