Day 2

Provincial Assessments: Grade 6 classes will remain in homerooms this morning as classes write the provincial science assessment.

Wellness: Grit Group meetings will be held at the following times ON THURSDAY:

Period 2 – Grade 7; Period 3 Gr 6 (ENG HRs); Period 4 Gr 6 (FI HRs)

Art: The art room will be closed during 2nd half of lunch today because the Art & Poster Club will be having a little ‘Arty Party’.  Art & Poster Club members are invited to bring their lunches to the art room for the entire lunch hour today.

Music:

-This is a reminder to Senior Band of our regular practice today after school. It ends at 4:30. There is also a band prep today during period 5. 

-There will be a practice for Beginner Band today during noon hour. Bring your lunch at the 11:50 bell and we will get playing. Beat the heat by playing your instrument! 

Athletics:

Track and field tryouts continue today after school with throwing events – discuss and shot put. Sign up sheets have been taken down so if you missed out, please see Ms. Hannam prior to attending. Tomorrow, the final tryout, for jumping events, will be held after school in the gym.

The varsity girls volleyball team will be taking on the varsity boys volleyball team today at lunch. Students are welcome to watch during the second half of lunch. 

The girls softball team will be playing against Beaconsfield today at 4. The game will be played at Market Place Field on the Lower West Side. Good luck girls!

All volleyball players are asked to return their washed jerseys to Ms. Hannam ASAP.

Other: Could all of Ms. Cymbaluk’s Grade six volunteers meet in the BIM room during the first half of lunch today

Applications for Year End awards are now open and will close May 28th, students can nominate themselves or a friend.

Grade 8 students, keep sending in your toddler / pre-school age photos to be used in the year end, Grade 8 Slide Show. Please send ONE digital photo to shawna.spinks@nbed.nb.ca before Friday, May 29th. Please include your name as you wish it to appear on the slide and please watch for a reply.

Student Volunteers Needed – Quispamsis Elementary School is hosting their 4th Annual Spring Fling on Friday May 29th. This will be a fun community event with games, face painting, balloon animals and more. They are looking for student volunteers to help run the games. Volunteers will be needed from 5:30-8:00 pm on May 29th. If anyone is interested in helping out, please email Julie.urquhart@nbed.nb.ca by Friday May 22nd. Volunteers will be provided supper (2 slices of pizza) when they arrive at 5:30pm.

PRIDE Passes – A grade 6 student showed ‘success’ in mastering algebra, and a grade 7 student showed ‘quality’ through responsibility and maturity in class.
