Provincial Assessments: Any absent Grade 6 is asked to go to the library at the start of P1.

Wellness: Grit Group meetings will be held at the following times today:

Period 2 – Grade 7; Period 3 – Gr 6 (ENG HRs); Period 4 – Gr 6 (FI HRs)

Want to learn more? Leaders from KV Oasis will be here today at 12:10 in the Wellness Centre. Come see what it’s all about!”

Art: The Art Room is reserved at lunch today for Gr. 7 students who are finishing up their ‘Shattered Value’ projects.

Music: -This is a reminder to Beginner Band of your practice today after school. It ends at 4:15 and is our last after school practice before next week’s concert.

-There is a Senior Band practice today at lunch. Please bring your lunch at the 11:50 bell and we will get playing. Also, if you did not get to the band prep yesterday, there is one during period 5 today.

Athletics:

The track and field tryout scheduled for today has been postponed until Monday. All those who have signed up for jumping events, the tryouts will now take place on Monday after school in the gym. If you have not signed up and want to try a jumping event, please see Ms. Hannam.

In other athletic news, the varsity boys flag football team will practice today after school on the field.

A shout-out to the girls’ softball team! They played a great first game of the season on Tuesday against Samuel-de-Champlain. It was 0-0 entering the third inning, and while they did not bring home the win, it was a close game and they played well. Yesterday, they played against Beaconsfield showing the same grit they showed on Tuesday. Next game is on Monday, May 25th at 6 o’clock against St Stephen at Centennial Field.

Tomorrow at lunch there will be a celebration for all members of the varsity and JV basketball and volleyball teams in Ms. Hannam’s room. All volleyball players are reminded to bring your washed jerseys to Ms. Hannam.

All volleyball players are asked to return their washed jerseys to Ms. Hannam ASAP.

Other: Applications for Year End awards are now open and will close May 28th, students can nominate themselves or a friend.

Grade 8 students, keep sending in your toddler / pre-school age photos to be used in the year end, Grade 8 Slide Show. Please send ONE digital photo to shawna.spinks@nbed.nb.ca before Friday, May 29th. Please include your name as you wish it to appear on the slide and please watch for a reply.

Student Volunteers Needed – Quispamsis Elementary School is hosting their 4th Annual Spring Fling on Friday May 29th. This will be a fun community event with games, face painting, balloon animals and more. They are looking for student volunteers to help run the games. Volunteers will be needed from 5:30-8:00 pm on May 29th. If anyone is interested in helping out, please email Julie.urquhart@nbed.nb.ca by Friday May 22nd. Volunteers will be provided supper (2 slices of pizza) when they arrive at 5:30pm.

Daily Affirmation – Every day is a new chance to thrive

PRIDE Passes – A grade 8 student showed great ‘motivation’ by staying on task in class, and a grade 7 student demonstrated ‘quality’ by walking their bike on school property.
