Announcements – Thursday, September 24th

QMS Morning Announcements

Today is DAY 1:  Sept. 24 2026

DID YOU KNOW – Major hockey teams like the Vancouver Canucks and the Montreal Canadiens sent Terry autographed sticks during his journey?

📢 OUR QMS Terry Fox Walk is TODAY:  September 24th!

We’re setting a school goal of $540, with every $1 donated counting as 10 kilometres toward Terry’s incredible journey of nearly 5,400 km.  Students can bring in $1 OR parents can make donations through Cashless Schools online.

The homeroom that raises the most kilometres will win a pizza party! 🍕

Let’s come together, get moving, and make a difference!

OUTSIDE RECESS
Please be respectful of other people’s space and safety.  We do not tolerate any kind of grappling, wrestling or rough-housing.  I am speaking to everyone in the field specifically.  Please keep your hands to yourself so we don’t have any injuries.

ALSO:  STAY OFF / AWAY from the soccer nets and NO CLIMBING on the fence!

From the Wellness Centre

A big thanks to the 9 students who submitted applications for the Take 5 for SEL Team. Mr. Stu will be reviewing them, contacting your references and will follow up with all applicants early next week.

UBU meets today in the Wellness Centre at 12:10. All are welcome!

LEADERSHIP
We are having our first dance of the school year tonight and would like to highlight a few expectations.

Students will receive dance bracelets later today. Please put them on and leave them on, that is your ticket.

We want you to enjoy the night by dancing and socializing this does not include running.

If you ordered pizza, please eat it in the cafeteria and clean up after yourself.

Canteen items can be eaten in the cafeteria or hallway. No food or drink in the gym.

There will be a table outside the gym for you to place your water bottle.

We are asking that parents/guardians are here by 8:30 to pick you up. Please know where your drive will be parked. The front door is very busy so you might want to meet them in the CSMES parking lot or down by the grade 6 door. Students should remain on the school side of the yard and not be standing in the median waiting for rides.

When we understand what’s expected this makes for a really fun time!

It’s gonna be a vibe!
