Announcements – Friday, January 9th Posted on January 9, 2026 Announcements for Friday, January 9th, 2026 Today is Day 2 Music and Tech: The Music Room and the Tech Room are both closed today at lunch. Art: Art room will also be closed today at lunch. Gr. 8 ‘Art & Poster Club’ members will meet at lunch on Monday instead. Sports: Basketball – Congratulations to both the Varsity Girls and the JV Girls for their victories yesterday. The Varsity Girls won a very close game against RPS and the JV Girls defeated HMS. A sign-up sheet is posted outside the gym for all grade 6 students, both boys and girls, wishing to try out for a Development Basketball team. See Mr. Melanson if you would like more information. The first tryout will be today, 3 – 4:30pm. The Varsity Boys will bepracticing after school at 4:30 On Monday, the Varsity Boys team will begin their regular season with a game at HMS and the JV Boys will play their first game at SMS. Both games are at 4pm. Also on Monday, the JV Girls will practice 3 – 4:30, followed by the Varsity Girls who will practice 4:30 – 6. Intramurals – Students interested in being a Score Keeper or Referee for the 3 on 3 basketball intramurals – please sign up outside the gym. All 3 on 3 basketball team lists need to be given to Mr. Long or Mr. Robichaud by lunch on Tuesday Jan. 13th. Other: It’s been noticed that students are playing a shooting game on the computers. Any games involving guns or shooting are not appropriate for school. Can Tabs – Students and staff are encouraged to continue bringing in aluminum can tabs which will be donated to the local redemption center and used to make a wheelchair for a local gentleman. Once your container is full, bring it down to the office where it will be weighed and emptied. Class points are awarded at the end of each term. Good luck!
