Announcements – Monday, May 11th Posted on May 11, 2026 Announcements for Monday, May 11, 2026 Day 1 May 11-15 is PRIDE week. In ASD-S, and here at QMS, Pride Week is a meaningful step toward creating safer, more inclusive schools for all learners. Pride Week benefits the entire school community by fostering empathy, belonging, and respect. At QMS we celebrate and support the uniqueness and diversity of our staff, students, and extended community every day. Our goal is to create a school environment where everyone feels welcome, accepted, and empowered to succeed no matter their identity or circumstances. Today, we are looking at Family Diversity and celebrating the many different kinds of families that are part of our school community. Families can look all kinds of ways—some have two moms, two dads, one parent, grandparents, step-parents, siblings, chosen family, and more—and every one of them matters. It’s important to recognize and respect that not all families look the same, and that’s something to be proud of. Our differences make our community stronger, more understanding, and more connected. Thanks for being part of a school where everyone belongs! Tomorrow is Denim Day for Breast Cancer Research. For 30 years, CURE has turned compassion into action — funding research, advancing early detection, and supporting patients across Canada. QMS encourages all students and staff to show their support by wearing denim and making a donation to the CURE. Supporters will be given a pink ribbon or sticker to wear and show their support.
