Announcements for Thursday, December 4th, 2025

Today is Day 3 (day 2 lost on the storm day)

It has snowed, winter is here to stay. The field will now be closed at lunch, duty staff can adjust their position to the pavement. A reminder to students to leave the snow on the ground. You are not to throw it, kick it, trip people to fall in it, etc. Please do not make bad choices which will result in an office visit. Temperatures have fluctuated and it may be icy under that layer of snow so please walk with caution.

Wellness: UBU will meet today during the second half of lunch, all are welcome.

Music: Yesterday’s scheduled Talent Show auditions, these will now be held Monday and they will be in Mrs. Roberts’ classroom. And if you have reconsidered and would like a Talent Show audition, please see Ms. Rattray or Mrs. Roberts today.

This announcement is for Senior Band: You have a band prep in PERIOD ONE today right after announcements. There will also be a band practice after school on Monday until 4:30pm.

Now for the Singing Club: We have a practice today at lunch. Please bring your lunch to the Music room and we will get singing after that last bite.

And usual, Beginner Band has practice after school today until 4:15pm.

Art: Yearbook Helpers – we will take a break and resume our meetings again in January. Stay tuned to announcements in the new year.

Sports:

Basketball – No basketball today. The JV Girls tryout has been postponed until Monday at 3pm.

Ski Club – If you have a confirmed seat, please give your signed paperwork to Mr. Nelson ASAP!

Dodgeball Intramurals – At lunch today, the Dodgy Bunch takes on the Brainy Ballers and the Academic Assassins play the Dodgefathers. The 4 teams who were scheduled to play yesterday, Picked Last, Schoolyard Slayers, Dodge Destroyers and the Hit Squad, please go to the gym at break this morning. A reminder to students who are watching the games, no food is allowed in the gym when watching dodgeball, spectators are to remain on the bleachers, you should not run onto the court at any time. Running off the bleachers is dangerous, please only walk on the stairs when entering or exiting the bleachers. Students who choose to not follow the rules, will not be allowed to watch or play.

Daily Affirmation – I can solve problems and challenges

PRIDE PassesA grade 8 student noticed the classroom needed tending to and swept. She showed respect for our school. A grade 6 student was determined to be successful and stayed focused in class and participated well.

Tickets for the December Dance are now available on Cashless schools. The dance will be held Thursday evening, December 11th. Deadline to purchase a tickets is Tuesday at midnight. Cheese pizza options available.
