Trivia – Canadian Black History Month

  1. This Civil Rights Pioneer is famous for challenging segregation at a Nova Scotia theatre in 1946 and is featured on the $10 bill.
  2. This pioneer from New Brunswick became the first black NHL player in 1958.
  3. Many enslaved people in the USA found freedom in Canada between 1815-1865 following this trail.

Bonus: Black Canadians have a long, often overlooked history of military service, highlighted by the No. 2 Construction Battalion—the only all-Black unit in Canadian history (WWI). Approximately 1,300 Black Canadians served in WWI despite facing systemic recruitment obstacles. In which province was the No 2 Construction Battalion formed?
