Today is Day 2

A few reminders to students: We have received our first snowfall of the year and while it is very tempting to make snowballs and throw snow, the snow needs to stay on the ground!

We are seeing an increase in physical contact, especially outside. The ‘Hands and Feet to self’ policy is very clear and has been repeated many times. There should be no physical contact at all, at any time.

Wonderful Wednesday – The parent group QMS Connections, will be serving hot chocolate as students arrive at school tomorrow morning. There will be 2 tables set up outside, please line up single file and purchase a nice, warm cup of hot chocolate for $1/cup. Limit of 2 cups per person.

Tech: Tech room will only be open for Grade 6 students who have Tech assignments to complete. Closed to grade 7 and 8.

Art:

During the 2nd half of lunch today and for the remainder of the week, the art room will only be open for Grade 8 students working on clay and portrait projects.

Sports:

The Varsity Girls basketball team begin tryouts today after school. Please be sure you have signed up prior to attending. The second tryout will be after school tomorrow. Practice both days ends at 4:30.

The final tryout for the Varsity Boys basketball team will be today 4:30 – 6. Please check the posted call back list prior to attending.

Dodgeball Intramurals – Today, the Ball Avengers vs The Hit Squad and the Dodge Destroyers vs Schoolyard Slayers. Wednesday: The Dodgy Bunch takes on the Academic Assassins and the Misfits face the Brainy Ballers. 25¢ to watch each day.

The following soccer players need to return their soccer jerseys to Ms. Hannam asap: Clark V (JVB), and Carson L (JVB).

And all Badminton players are also reminded to pass in their shirts to Mr. Long.

Ski / Snowboard Club 2026 – The school has once again secured space in the Poley Mountain School Ski Program for the 2026 season. The season will consist of six sessions (weather depending) starting 9 January and continuing each week on Friday evenings. Information is being sent to parents today and a student information session will be held tomorrow for all interested students.  Seats will be allocated on a first come – first served basis on Thursday Nov 20th beginning at 8:10 AM. This activity is limited of 50 participants due to space on the bus.

PRIDE Passes – A grade 6 student was nominated for doing a great job cleaning the classroom and another grade 6 student stood up for someone who could not stand up for themselves.

Chris Saunders Elementary is looking for middle school student volunteers to help lead games and activities at their annual CSMES Holiday Yule Event. The event will be on Friday, November 28th from 6-8pm. If you are interested, please email csmesplaygroundcommittee@gmail.com before the end of this week.
