Other: The 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremonies are this Friday and to cheer on Canada, we’re having a red and white GO Canada GO Day! Wear all your patriotic clothing to show support for our athletes! Class points will be awarded for participation. Attention all Cougars! Do you love making someone’s day a little brighter? Does helping others fill your bucket? The leadership team is challenging all students to perform random acts of kindness from Feb 6-11. Small gestures mean a lot: shovel a neighbour’s driveway, hold the door for someone carrying a heavy load, check-in on someone if they are sick. Let your heart lead the way. We would love to fill the Kindness Tree located on the bulletin board between the gym and the music room. How can you get involved? It is simple, take a ballot from the envelope on the bulletin board and fill it out with your name, homeroom and a brief description of your kind act. You DO NOT have to mention the recipient of your kindness if you would rather not. Drop the completed ballot in the office. Thank you in advance for spreading kindness!! WWE Club meets today in Ms. Cusack’s class. If you’re a fan of wrestling, come check it out! Can Tabs – Mme Spinks will be dropping off the can tabs on Saturday, please send them down this week. Show the Love for Staff Appreciation – Many thanks to the parents who have supported our Show the Love Campaign to fund Staff Appreciation in February. Families can donate on Cashless Schools and for every $2 that is donated, the student will receive a paper heart on which they can write the name of a staff member who they would like to celebrate. Daily Affirmation – I’m going to take a chance PRIDE Passes – A grade 8 student was on task during class and a grade 6 student kindly washed paint brushes during lunch break. Tu-Wednesday Trivia – 2026 Winter Olympics The 25th Winter Olympics begin on Friday Feb 6th. In what country are these Winter Olympics being held? Oldest Competitor: Deanna Stellato-Dudek of Canada will be the oldest woman to compete in figure skating since 1928. How old is she? Ski mountaineering (or “skimo”) is the only new sport at these winter games. This high-energy sport combines uphill and downhill skiing with mountaineering skills, often requiring athletes to do what with their skis during foot sections?
